Prof. Eytan Gilboa, Chair and Academic Director

Prof. Eytan Gilboa is a renowned expert on international communication, public diplomacy and US policy in the Middle East. Widely published, he is a regular commentator on these topics for international media and has won numerous international fellowships and awards.

Prof. Gilboa founded the School of Communication and the Center for International Communication at Bar-Ilan University in Israel, and served as the first director of both.
He received his MA and PhD in Government from Harvard University and a BA in Political Science and International Relations from the Hebrew University. He has been a visiting professor at several leading American and European universities and research institutes.

Sharon Evans, Vice Chair and Director of International Development

Sharon Evans vision was to establish a forum for civic engagement about Israel and the Middle East. A dedicated non-profit professional and advocate for public diplomacy, along with an entrepreneurial spirit, she brings years of experience in strategic planning, brand development, fundraising and innovative projects. Prior to founding IPD, Evans served as spokesperson for the Israel Solidarity Emergency Fund (ISEF)/OneFamily and founded Adopt a Family, a non-profit established to highlight the long-lasting effects of global terrorism on victims and their families. In recognition, she was awarded the Key to Las Vegas by Mayor Oscar Goodman. Prior to her founding of IPD Forum, she served as Director of Development for North America at Bar Ilan University.

Navah Edelstein, Director of Projects

Navah Edelstein has vast experience in the fields of public diplomacy, international relations and project management.  Prior to joining IPD, Navah served as Director of Foreign Relations for The National Union of Israel Students (NUIS). She holds a MA in Organizational Development from Bar Ilan University and a BA in Sociology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Shari Eshet , Associate Director of Resource Development

Shari Eshet comes to the Israel Public Diplomacy Forum with vast experience in donor relations and event planning for major donors. Previous to working for IPDF, she was the director of the National Council of Jewish Women (USA) office in Israel, responsible for the direction and administration of their grants programs in Israel as well as the primary development person for all the Israel programs. As director, she represented the organization in coalition with other partners including government agencies, and other NGOs to advance social justice and gender equality in Israel. As a consultant to the Israel Museum, she was responsible for planning and executing events for the International Council for  Major Donors held annually in Jerusalem.  A native of Miami Beach, Florida, Shari has lived in Israel for 40 years.

Aviva Mualem, Office Manager

Aviva Mualem joined IPD Forum in December 2015 as the Office Manager. Her background is in administration, and she brings many years of experience to IPD. She is responsible for general administration, travel coordination, human resources and finances. She studied human resource management at the Open University.
